— A Creative Venue Built Around Community and Culture —

Drawing its name from the Thai word Glur, meaning a close friend, the project was conceived as a social platform where people from different creative backgrounds come together through music, art, and conversation. Designed, developed, and operated by our team, GLUR reflects the belief that meaningful spaces are shaped not only by architecture, but also by the communities they foster.

The existing building was transformed by selectively removing portions of the second-floor slab to create a double-height space centered around a live performance stage. This intervention establishes stronger visual connections between levels and creates a shared sense of energy throughout the venue.

Approximately seventy percent of the original structure was preserved, allowing raw concrete, exposed construction, and the building’s existing industrial character to become part of its new identity. Layers of warm timber, perforated panels, integrated lighting, and custom millwork were introduced to create a dialogue between old and new while retaining the character of the original building.

Beyond architecture, the project extends into branding, operational planning, event programming, and business development. Together, these elements allow GLUR to continually evolve as a gathering place shaped by Bangkok’s creative community.
