— A Creative Venue Built Around Community and Culture —

Born from the Thai word Glur, meaning good friend, the project was conceived as more than a bar—it is a social platform where people from different creative backgrounds come together through music, art, and conversation. Designed, developed, and operated by our team, GLUR reflects the belief that meaningful spaces are shaped not only by architecture, but also by the communities they foster.

The existing building was strategically transformed by removing portions of the second-floor slab to create a dramatic double-height venue centered around a live performance stage. This intervention established stronger visual connections between levels, amplifying the energy of live music while encouraging interaction throughout the space.

Rather than replacing the building's character, approximately seventy percent of the original structure was preserved, allowing its raw concrete, exposed construction, and industrial qualities to become part of the identity. New layers of warm timber, perforated panels, lighting, and custom millwork were carefully introduced to soften the atmosphere while celebrating the building's history. The resulting dialogue between old and new mirrors the diversity of the community the venue serves.

Beyond the architectural design, the project extended into branding, operational planning, event programming, and business development, creating a venue that continues to evolve as both a cultural destination and a gathering place for Bangkok's creative community.
